Bug: Can't delete large files #14836

Description

Three times I've tried this and all attempts failed — all of them with different results.

  1. I've pressed DEL on a system drive backup stored on another drive, got a green icon in the status box, file disappeared but I noticed after a minute on the main page that the bar under the drive did not move, so I pressed WIN+E and checked via Explorer, funny thing, the file was there, so I deleted it again while I was there and thought all this was some insignificant one time issue.

  2. To be sure, I've attempted to delete another backup, green icon, file vanished for a moment and reappeared, funny thing here, the bar under the drive moved like if it was deleted but then Explorer told me a different story, the file was untouched.

  3. One quick computer restart here.

  4. At this point I am still assuming "this is a ME problem", now instead of DEL I go for the big guns, SHIFT+DEL, popup window (yay!), I choose the option to remove the file, window is gone but nothing happens. DEL x5, nothing, right click, trash icon, nothing.

Additionally:

· I can delete other files without any problems, just checked to be sure on a few tiny ones, small ones and one movie (1.6 GB) · File Locksmith says nothing is using this file (just a sanity check, because I can delete it without any problems via Explorer)

I have no idea if this will help anyhow, but:

· File type is pbd · Drive is Kingston SA2000M8/1000G · Single partition on one drive, not a system partition, no BitLocker etc.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Select a large file (in my case over 50 GB)
  2. Try to delete it

Requirements

Deleting a large file should delete the file. Equality for all file sizes!

Thanks for the report, there isn't any error in the log file so this may take a while to find a fix. Can you check that

Thanks for a quick reply!

..still, I should be able to do the same operations just like in the Explorer without removing the extension first, right?
