kounabi22 commented 7 months ago

In Heavyweight Champ (hwchamp) at the start screen it shows lvl 1 ,2 3 option to choose in mame but in fbneo is missing and there are some moves that dont exist in fbneo, you just go left ,right and 2 punches but in mame they are some block moves(if you press up,down in fbneo they dont exist).

Thanks for letting us know!

It should be obvious now that none of the sports games ever got played or playtested, except for maybe the occasional baseball, basketball or bowling game.

best regards,

yes i believe so.... well i try and test games that i have put im collection from time to time ,in order to see if dip switches are in normal setting and not some hardcore as i notice in some snk games.

I want you to know that we really appreciate taking the time to let us know about these problems!

best regards,

@barbudreadmon I added a fix for this, but reverted it because wasn't too happy with the layout... Got any ideas?

barbudreadmon commented 7 months ago

Hmmm, i looked at some videos of the cabinet, it's basically a twin-stick game with an additional analog axis to rotate the cabinet ? It might be nice to have that rotation axis split into 2 axis, one to rotate to the left and the other one to rotate to the right, so that it could be mapped to a modern controller's left & right triggers while the 2 handles are mapped to the analog sticks.

dinkc64 commented 7 months ago

Unfortunately its kinda difficult to play when mapped like that :/

dinkc64 commented 6 months ago

@kounabi22, I added the missing functionality, but I might revisit it because I'm not completely happy with the way it controls. Please try it and let me know what you think

kounabi22 commented 6 months ago

i download the win fbneo but i cant seem to manage to block high or low (c,v keys ) only go left ,right and the 2 punch buttons work.

barbudreadmon commented 6 months ago

c,v keys

Do you mean keyboard keys ?

As previously mentioned, this game use 5 analog axises, meaning something returning a positive/negative variable value, not some 0/1 button.

My understanding is that 2 of those 5 axis are demi-axises expecting positives only (punches ?), while the 3 others expect full axises.

Note that i have yet to find a decent mapping for this in the libretro port.

kounabi22 commented 6 months ago

yes i try a gamepad and they work.

barbudreadmon commented 6 months ago

yes i try a gamepad and they work.

For reference, how did you map this on the gamepad ?

kounabi22 commented 6 months ago

Untitled-1

right stick i use up and left . so when you use diagonal you block down left ,down right and up

dinkc64 commented 6 months ago

I have an idea - to merge the move left/right with the block udlr, going to try and see how it plays
