Ability to zoom samples so that operations like setting loop-points and
other editing would be easier and more precise.

Yes! This would be much appreciated. I do a lot of sample editing on the DS and 
it's
often real difficult to get things on beat so zoomed out.

Appearently, it doesn't work with too long samples.
