This should be discussed with Rolf H. One idea he had was to separate the interleaved slices stack and calculate them separately. Pro: pragmatic solution and easy to implement Con: we will lose accuracy as slice-thickness will be 2 mm (instead of 1 mm) and the "new" volumes may overlap
