We can also email toc@lists.finos.org to get TOC support to encourage all projects to obtain the CHAOSS Bronze DEI badge (or more)
Thanks so much for raising @PaulaPaul - well worth considering - we'll add to the agenda for you to introduce on the March 7th call.
Feature Request
Description of Problem:
How can the FINOS DEI SIG measure the impact of our efforts to improve diversity and inclusion across all FINOS projects and working groups?
Potential Solutions:
One step that all our projects can take without much effort:
The FINOS DEI SIG can help measure the impact of our efforts through encouraging member projects to obtain the CHAOSS DEI Badge. We can track specific steps taken by each project, such as simply including a DEI.md file in the project to obtain a bronze badge, and automate the creation of metrics reports that show progress across all FINOS projects.
A more in depth solution would be to work with AnitaB to adapt the 'Measure What Matters' program to Open Source Foundations and communities, and engage AnitaB to offer this type of award to Open Source Foundations and communities starting in 2025. We could also work with other DEI related non-profits to establish this kind of award, this will take some time and coordinated efforts and, if the FINOS DEI-SIG wished to go in this direction, this work would likely need to be split out to a separate Epic.
