One of our main goals is to be able to demonstrate the benefit of using Theme Builder in an application. We would like to use or create a tool that can provide feedback to a developer in order to alert them of potential visual accessibility issues in their applications. It would be great if the tool were more robust and detect other types of accessibility weaknesses that an application may have. But since Theme Builder is currently largely impacting visual accessibility, that is where our initial target lies.
So this issue is meant to answer the questions:
if a tool currently exists that can detect visual accessibility issues in a web application. For example color contrast issues.
if such a tool doesn't currently exist, does the technology exist in any products to be able to detect color contrast issue, for example, in another way that may not apply well to web applications but could be used to build a testing protocol that could be followed to gather similar statistics to goal number 1
if we can identify a tool for number 1 or 2, can we lead a developer to build metrics that could demonstrate accessibility improvement in an application through the use of such metrics.
