Dear Legend data modeling community,
Following the success and increased demand for collaboration on the FINOS hosted instance of Legend Studio, we’re migrating the CDM, Product Control Common Template, Commodity Reference Data, and Currency Reference Data projects and models that are currently in our GitLab hosted instance (gitlab.legend.finos.org) to gitlab.com/finosfoundation/legend on August 10th, 2021.
Why are we migrating to GitLab.com?
This migration is part of the Legend roadmap, and represents the final maturity step for the Legend SDLC component (now compatible with the latest version of GitLab public APIs!) and for the FINOS hosted instance infrastructure. The migration will not only facilitate the onboarding of any existing gitlab.com user, but more importantly, it will allow us to leverage our partnership with GitLab to provide a more stable and resilient environment to host Legend models.
What are we asking from you?
If you wish to continue accessing any of the CDM, Product Control Common Template, Commodity Reference Data, and/or Currency Reference Data projects and models that are currently hosted on the FINOS-hosted shared instance of Legend Studio, please follow the below steps
by Friday, July 23rd, which should take no more than 2 minutes of your time:If you do not have a GitLab account: Sign up for a GitLab account
If you already have a GitLab account OR once you have created one (see step 1): email help@finos.org with (i) your GitLab username and (ii) the projects you’d like to get access to, so that we can restore your entitlements.
What are the practical implications of the migration?
Project lead maintainers will be able to access the projects and models throughout the migration process and the commit history will be preserved. Main projects will also be migrated and preserved.
However personal/scratch projects will not be migrated or preserved. If you have created any private/scratch projects you would like to preserve, please make sure to back them up/ recreate them by August 10th.
