I've checked every checkbox in the manager but still don't see any thumbnails: image

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties. As a quick check, have you made certain to disable the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option in Explorer?

DarkThumbs does not show thumbnails "for every image in an archive". It shows a thumbnail for the archive itself.

Based on what you've shown here, a thumbnail might be visible for Temp1_Microsoft_Wallpapers.zip when viewing the Temp folder in Explorer. If you were to extract Microsoft_Office_Icons.zip into Temp, then view Temp in thumbnail view, you'll hopefully see office_icons_01.png as the thumbnail for that archive.

I think you've found a couple of limitations of DarkThumbs:

  1. A thumbnail is not shown for an archive containing archives. I.e. a ZIP file containing an EPUB won't show a thumbnail.
  2. Explorer's "Extract" feature doesn't seem to talk to DarkThumbs.

I'll have to dig into those.

Oh haha my bad. I didn't understand the purpose of the program then.

I've just checked a cbz and rar file (both are books), and they do have cover thumbnails, whereas I don't think they did before. So I think it is working then.

Feel free to rename the issue to something more descriptive of the limitations you listed.

No problem! Is there some way I can clarify the readme to prevent possible confusion in the future?

Thank you for the PR!
