[FR]: Firebase Auth support for PassKeys #11548

Description

As part of the authentication systems supported by Firebase it would be great if users could use PassKeys (FIDO/Webauthn) given both Android and iOS support PassKeys well now.

If you're using Flutter, we have built an extension that makes use of the Flutter passkeys package and allows to use passkeys for Firebase in Flutter - in case that helps some of you.

Any updates on timelines? Per the last update in January, release was planned for H1 of 24, and we have 1 month left before that's over.

@utamori thanks for sharing that! I wonder if that necessarily means Firebase supports it though? I know it optionally uses Cloud Identity Platform but I'm not clear if there are limitations to its abilities.

Any update on Firebase implementing the cloud identity platform? We're evaluating staying on with firebase vs other solutions because of this
