xmr-stak has the same fault

Spudz76 commented 5 years ago

I believe you have some other (broken) OpenCL driver in the stack. If it were the actual AMD OpenCL it would know amd_bfe

Uninstall Intel iGPU driver? Check you have the correct platform number, etc.

I used xmr-stak 2.8.2 I was mining wonderfully monero, I changed an xmr-stak 2.10.0 now I presented this failure

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

With the update 2.10.1 I solve the error. I have a new problem with the new version 2.10.1 every 1 or 2 hours, the controller stops working, I have left the intensity to the lowest level and the controller stops working every 1 or 2 hours until the interleaving was reduced to 0, but now I do not know what to do. I have 3 ati graphics. I tried them separately and the controller stops working.

psychocrypt commented 5 years ago

I will fix it today. it looks like it is coming from a memory leak. Over time time miner begins to consume more and more memory and than will crash.

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

I also noticed that there is a large current consumption, I burn the protection regulator 4 times it consumes a lot of amperage, or is it due to the new monero algorithm? Or is the problem of the miner due to memory consumption.

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

The amperage rises too much in the graphs ati radeon or is due to the problem of the memory or the new algorithm of monero but consumes too much current

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

@psychocrypt The same problem with the new version of xmr-stak 2.10.2 after a long time between 1 or 2 two hours the miner stops and paralyzes the ATI gpu

psychocrypt commented 5 years ago

Please try an other driver. It could be that this is an driver internal issue.

Which driver and which card do you use.

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

The driver I use is 14.4. The graphics I use are, ATI RADEON 5970 2GB and XFX 6870 1GB Xmr-stak 2.10.2 I can have a higher hashrate rate for me, it's great, it lasts between 1 or 7 hours and the hashrate disappears, use the newest drivers and the fault is worse and I see that the problem is in general, but only in AMD

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

I would like to use the Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta driver but xmr-stak does not recognize the drivers. Will there be a way to use that beta driver? I will put it to the test.

bycarloz commented 5 years ago

@psychocrypt I do not know if it is the problem, but for now I am extracting more hours, I am reducing the intensity little by little from 320 to 280. The bad thing is that I lose hashrate because if I use the intensity at 320 I have hashrate good for 7 or 8 hours nothing else and after that time it's 0 hashrate, and I've seen a lot more graphic and newer and it has the same flaw. Because if it were due to excessive intensity increase, the miner does not detect the gpu or the controllers would stop working at that moment.

Spudz76 commented 5 years ago

I would run no newer than 13.4 WHQL on Terascale2 cards

Linux required similar era driver (fglrx 13.3x) before my Terascales would quit going lazy. Otherwise more or less exactly as you describe, run fine, then goes off to lunch randomly with no trace of cause. 15.x for sure did not work. Neither did 14.12.

You have to run a driver from before they abandoned your GPU family (in 2013). Of course they never put "we abandoned support" for anything in writing and promise the newer drivers still do everything and 8x faster, but they don't. There is no way they test every driver release on every GPU it claims to support, especially antiques. More like "theoretically" supports these relics from the past - probably fine for just 2D graphics too, and I think somewhere deep in a readme or EULA they hide that fact that "supports" means "boots and does basic 2D graphics" - not meaning the assumed human definition of supports which is supports every feature all previous drivers did.

It remained stable with a low intensity, but when it increased, an error appeared and the miner did not recognize the GPU and had to decrease the intensity. maximum intensity of 263. for 24 hours and a low hashrate remained stable. 92h / s each gpu so far the miner has not been stopped or turned off gpu

Controller used to perform the tests. 14.9 official - official 15.7.1 - 15.11.1 beta. All with a maximum intensity of 260 and the miner does not stop. The maximum intensity is of 263, in the drivers that ultilice

Driver 14.4 I can increase my hashrate even higher with an intensity of 320 to 380, but the miner stops after the hour, so I decrease the intensity to 270 I have a hashrate 91.4. Now the miner has not stopped. I will continue testing and increasing the intensity little by little until the gpu is turned off. with the v8 mine with a gpu 204 hashrate and the other 124 hashrate and with the new monero with the problem that I have mino now 182.8 and the other gpu 93 hashrates. @Spudz76 @psychocrypt I do not know if this helps my English is a bit bad
