password on parental lock #214

most kids these days are smart, so if there is no password on the parental
lock, they will figure out how to play those games they are not supposed to.

:) Its nice to have smart kids. We can add some sort of password for parental
lock
in a later release.

On this subject, I'd like to suggest something.

Password protected OS config/games with a bypass input from the coverflow GUI(if
parental controls will make locked games invisible) or from the game launcher
submenu
that doesn't require the flag to change the universal unlock. (Not sure if that
makes
sense)
Like if I wanted to load No More Heroes, but I didn't want to take the parental
control off, just bypass it to load the game so that the next time Coverfloader
loads, PC is on. Like a button-press combination code that the 360 does.

I'd be nice to have different parent lock tiers as well. I'd just like to be
able to
lock-out format drive and remove game, that way kids can add games and change
video
mode if need be.
This is of course low priority.

How hard would it be to integrate to the rating controls built into Wii? Also,
I
figured out how to hide/unhide Add/Settings but how does one block a specific
game?,
my Wife wants all of the T and E10 games blocked.

i know that, but i'm talking about keeping certain games from being able to be
played
while parental lock is on. i don't want my 6 year old playing madworld, and
house of
the dead...

I second ftaylorgibson's comment (8) (and mine (4)).

You can currently do this in RC6 ( I Think )

1) Turn OFF Parental control
2) click A on game you want to lock
3) Click settings for that game
4) Click the LOCK Icon to lock the game
5) Turn ON Parental control

The game is currently not hidden, but you shouldn't be able to start the game.

We should probably set it up to hide locked games in the near future.

awesome, thanks justin! not too concerned about hiding it, just keeping him
from
playing it... now my wii is complete!! (or will be on rc7 with the
implementation of
the 002 fix for 13a!)
