Looking for developer(s) to partner on helping save local journalism for Spring MVP lab #6

Coronavirus has shown us that people still value and rely on high quality news reporting from their local area. But, the way the internet is set up today, Google, Facebook and others have sucked most of the advertising dollars out of local news. This has forced many outlets to close, cutting off this vital source of information for our home communities, and allowed lower quality journalism and misinformation to thrive.

My team for the Spring Lab will be solving this problem, helping news outlets to increase their revenue streams by making it super easy for consumers to make small, one off payments to pay for the local news they want to consume. Other attempts to do this in the past have made it too complex and expensive for both news producers and consumers.

My idea will overcome these difficulties. The long term aspiration will be for our product to be open source, ready for news producers and consumers to install and run for free. I’m looking for developers and others to partner with me to bring this vision to life.

Hello !!! Your project idea seems to be unique and innovative. I am currently a master's student in computer science. Having a couple of years of experience as a Software Developer, I am proficient in various front-end and back-end technologies along with machine learning and deep learning technologies. @dstansbury Are you looking for anyone not working in a developer capacity? I work in security and there is a lot of overlap between my field and journalism that I'd be interested in exploring.

Hi @dstansbury , you are proposing a great idea. I'm Marcel from Germany, I have been working as a Java professional since 2010. If you need a dev specialized in backend technology (Java, Spring, Spring-Boot etc.), I'd like to help you building the project.
