Short Project Description
Sedge is a project management and file-sharing tool for music producers and artists that streamlines their music production workflow and allows them to collaborate effectively. While the big picture of the company is to become the Slack/Asana of the music production world, the initial MVP will target the file-sharing/music review process and how to make it more hassle-free. With Sedge, listeners can comment on tracks without having to make an account, while users can review those comments directly from within their preferred digital audio workstations (DAWs). Sedge’s Version Control also helps users to keep track of multiple versions of a song, which makes it much more convenient considering the iterative nature of music production.
To show how I envision the final MVP to look like, here’s a demo video of the prototype that I built.
Team Bios
Steven Tey - currently the sole founder of the project. Have built startups in the EdTech and dApp space in the past, and have also been the Product Owner of several tech solutions like Salesforce and SpringCM. Proficient in various design and prototyping tools like Sketch, Origami, and Zeplin, currently learning various web dev frameworks like React, Vue, Express, and Node.
Why Work With Us
Despite being the only one working on this project so far, I've managed to generate quite a sizeable amount of traction - I currently have around 15 beta testers and around 50 people on the waitlist - which is a promising indicator of product-market fit. The market is still pretty unsaturated and the only company that is doing something remotely similar to Sedge has a rather poor execution. We are filling a gap that is in desperate need of a robust and effective solution, and with the right execution, we will be able to achieve profitability and growth within 6-12 months.
