suggestion: note sharing #39

first of all, in "notes manager" it seems more than one notes' "group" is foreseen... are there any uses by now?

it could be useful to permit saving a "group" of notes in a different location, so using some service like DropBox, notes could be shared across more users

What do you mean by "note group"? The list on the left with "all notes"? This list is used for saved searches. If you search for notes, you can save the search terms. This way you can somehow categorize your notes...

I agree with the sharing. However I don't know whether file synchronisation services are the right tool for that. It can lead to problems if two people write at the same time.

But in the next version I plan to at least let the user specify the location for the DB file.

Notes sharing is one of my long term goals and I will probably create some server software and offer a service for that, but also make the server software public so that everyone could run their own server. Currently I'm thinking to make shared notes read only. Synchronisation of edits can be tricky I guess. But maybe others can comment on notes.

I will see, I don't want to make the interface too difficult... But I'm always happy about suggestions. In the end it is the users (i.e. you ;)) I'm developing this for :)

you're right :-/

nice... :) one more feature that could be useful (my older suggestion) is to "bind" a note to more than 1 page (useful for notes in webdevelopment to be put on local, test and production pages at the same time)

Currently I'm thinking to make shared notes read only.

would be good enough.. customers could let notes on pages for developer... one could copy and paste to another note to "comunicate" without need to modify the original

thanks for the effort! (happy)

I wanted to stress that sharing won't be available in the foreseeable future.

I first want to make the application itself more stable and usable before I start with sharing. I also just don't have enough time to really dig into this topic...

But it will come eventually....
