Electrolysis compatibility #90

Hi guys, First of all a big thanks for this great addon, which I use daily :) Are you planning to upgrade it to be compatible with https://wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis ? Thanks for any info, Vlad

I haven't worked on this project in a long time and I unfortunately I don't see myself having time to work on this in the future. When I wrote this addon I thought I would never be one of those developers that abandons an addon that others rely upon. There is only so much you can do in a day though, and life and priorities change.

I'm afraid that updating it to be compatible will be a lot of work, since it's still based on the old XUL technology. Rewriting it would probably be easier.

If anyone wants to do that I'm happy to review PRs.

I'm very sorry for any inconveniences this may cause you!

I understand, thanks very much for this addon and for update, maybe somebody will take over, or maybe it will create an import from your addon to a similar one :) Take care!

@fkling you may be interested in continuing to develop this for Pale Moon (in fact I use it currently and your addon works very well there). Technically would not be very difficult to maintain because the browser is still compatible with XUL addons and is fairly stable in terms of updates, so it is unlikely that something will break when install a new version. I'm not very familiar with the subject, but I think to make it "compatible" at first just modify the install.rdf file. For other questions in the forum can advise you better than me.
