Make a verify function. Something that can test whether or not there's a difference between e.g. the .Renviron file in home and the boilerplate equivalent in dots/sources.

Basically, what you should do is make a boilerplate folder within dots. Files from boilerplate will only be used if the file doesn't exist already. (the generalized .dotfile should be moved to this folder as well).
