Thanks for the detailed suggestions!
1 & 2) I like the idea and will consider this for future improvements.
3) You would like to delete the file from the file system not just from the app's database, right? As a first step, I could add this functionality to the options that are available on long click on an item.
4) Do you mean the volume should be adjustable independently of the system volume? Or just that it should be adjustable without using the device's volume controls? If the latter, what would be the advantage of that?
5) Have you seen the option in the settings to switch to dark theme? I admit, some of the colors of the dark theme are not the calmest either, but maybe that's more like what you have in mind.
Yes, the regular mp3 file. Older files are usually not needed, it would be convenient to be able to delete them after listening. This is necessary for podcasts (without rss, youtube mp3). Maybe like here:
I think that a separate volume level is not necessary, can change the main multimedia (system) volume level. The advantage of this method is that can immediately see what volume level. There is no need to press the device volume buttons to display the volume change dialog. Also maybe, if you find it convenient, can add 2 additional buttons at the edges for change the volume by 1 point ( 1, -1), for more comfortable listening before bedtime, when there is silence around.
Maybe it would be possible to replace the orange color in the title bar with black or gray for a dark theme?
UPD: It is only important to delete files, others are not particularly necessary.
Thanks a lot.
3) Yes, I agree this feature would be useful.
4) I personally would find it rather annoying to have another seek bar in the display to be honest, because it means one more big area that I should not accidentally touch (if that makes sense). And I think the advantage of having an in-app volume change seekbar over changing the volume over the devices volume buttons is comparably small.
5) I agree, that would probably be a good idea. Also changing the icon color in the player might help.
I added the option to delete files on long-click and it will be in the next release. I haven't addressed 5) yet, but I'll get back to it.
1&2 will be a bit more work probably, but I have not forgotten about it.
Could you share the APK file with delete function. Thanks.
I added the apk to release 2.1.4 . If you installed it via F-Droid there should be an update available within the next days.
In the process of using it, I had a couple more ideas. If they suddenly turn out to be useful and convenient, it would be great.
For example, can mark audio as played in full if there are 30-40 seconds left until the end (very often there is a void or something like that) . Also, for example, could delete completed played files using the "Pull-to-refresh" swipe.
About the last two suggestions:
@mark as completed: Since this is not the expected default behavior I'd have to add an option in the settings for this. However, I don't want to clutter the settings with too many options if they are not heavily used or can be easily replaced with a few extra clicks (in this case just pulling the progress bar to the very end of the file or pressing the skip forward buttons).
@delete on refresh: I can't add this per default because this is not the expected default behavior. But in this case I'll think about adding an option in the settings.
On some Android devices the minimum volume is quite high, which is not comfortable at night, it would be nice to see the volume change someday
Hi, I have been looking for an application like yours for a long time, this is what I need and what I have been looking for for a long time. All that is missing is the function to delete the file. I also noticed that can slightly improve the interface to make it even more convenient.
I drew an example concept for clarity. Apple uses the same ideas in its podcast application and it seems very convenient.
Thanks for this good app.
