Flameshot is broken on the latest version of Manjaro Cinnamon #2725

Flameshot 11.0.0-5

Manjaro Cinnamon v: 5.4.2

Description

When activating flameshot, the screen first turns off, then turns on and off continuously.

Steps to reproduce

  1. run flameshot
  2. problem occurs

try latest 12 version

@pempek as correctly suggested by @jaclas , we are now at version 12.0.0 and many bugs have been addressed from v11.0.0 time. If your distro repo doesn't have the latest version, you can always use Flatpak, Snap, or AppImage. More information in the link below:

I'll close this for now, but feel free to reopen it if the issue persisted in 12.0.0 as well. Thank you.

Also, isn't this duplicate of #2724?

Hi. I've installed version 12.0.0 from AUR now. Problem still happens.

I suspect this has something to do with the latest version of Cinnamon. gTile is also broken after the update.

@pempek thanks for the info. Let's reopen this issue (although it is extremely unlikely that it is flameshot issue considering the video you provided. Then you open a bug report on Cinnamon side and also reference this issue there as well. We can then work with Cinnamon devs and see if there is anything we can do to help or if they have any idea on what the issue can be considered that this issue hasn't been reported by anyone else.

Can you please test flameshot-git again? I wonder if this will be solved with #2698
