[MacOS] “flameshot” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified #3302

Flameshot v12.1.0 70be63d

Installation Type

Linux, MacOS, or Windows Package manager (apt, pacman, eopkg, choco, brew, ...)

Operating System type and version

MacOS Ventura 13.4.1 (22F82)

Description

Hi,

Whenever I download the app from site, I get the following error

“flameshot” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.

I've tried installing it through DMG, through Homebrew, using Safari for the download, but everytime it seems that MacOS is not able to recognise the application

Also, I've tried going into Privacy & Security -> Allow Anyways and that gives me the same message

Pls note, I have sudo access while doing all of this, so that does not seems to be the problem. Also tried downloading a previous version of the app, but still no luck

The only option that I haven't tried is disabling the Gatekeeper, which does not seem like a good idea

Any help and support in this case is highly appreciated !

Steps to reproduce

  1. Download Flameshot through DMG or Homebrew
  2. Copy it over to the Application folder
  3. Get the error message
