As a frequent user of Flameshot, I find the color picker functionality very useful. However, I believe it could be even more efficient if it provided a real-time color preview while I'm moving my mouse within the selection window. This would allow me to see the color information immediately, without having to stop and use the color picker separately.
Proposed Feature:
A semi-transparent window that displays the color information of the pixel currently under the cursor when selecting an area to capture.
This color preview should update dynamically as the mouse moves within the selection window.
Use Case:
Imagine you're taking a screenshot of a colorful UI element and you need to match a specific color. With the current color picker, you have to stop the selection, open the color picker, than grab each color one by one.
By having a real-time color preview, you could quickly confirm the color without interrupting the selection process. This would save time and make the overall experience more efficient.
Potential Implementation:
The color preview could be implemented as a small overlay window that follows the mouse cursor within the selection window.
This window would display the color information of the pixel at the cursor's current position.
The color preview window could be semi-transparent to not obstruct the view of the area being selected.
Additional Context:
Currently, Flameshot dynamically updates the selection geometry, which is great. I suggest extending this functionality to include a real-time color preview as described above.
