Cannot access Tool Settings options #3516

Flameshot Version

Flameshot v12.1.0 () Compiled with Qt 5.15.3 linux: 5.15.0-94-generic ubuntu: 22.04

Installation Type

Using the ready-made package from Github Releases

Operating System type and version

Ubuntu 22.04

Description

When taking a screenshot, I click on the "Tool Settings" menu to customise the colour and size of the tools but the tools settings menu does not open. I use a secondary monitor.

I then tried disconnecting the secondary monitor but the issue persisted. I have tried removing the re-installing Flameshot but the issue persists.

I tried installing the Snap package which failed so I tried Flatpak which installed but the bug with the tool settings persists.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run flameshot gui
  2. Select a region on any monitor
  3. Click on the Tool Settings menu

Sorry for the late reply. Would you please try the following and let me know if it fix the issue:

  1. close all instances of Flameshot ( in terminal run pkill flameshot)
  2. disconnect external monitors
  3. make sure you have Flameshot installed (e.g through the github deb file)
  4. run Flamehsot (i.e. either by running flameshot in terminal , or from your Gnome application menu)
  5. try to capture a screenshot and open the sidebar (e.g by pressing Space)
