FLARE engine supports sidescrollers graphics? #1697

Does the FLARE engine support sidescroller graphics? I say in the matter of adapting the system (at txt level) to sidescroller graphics, making it work normally and all systems, especially visually show the equipment.

I'm not programmer, neither artist guy, but was thinking of something like Dungeon Souls (https://store.steampowered.com/app/383230/Dungeon_Souls/), in order to create a game with few graphics (because you can mirror the character).

Is good see flare is going on, since 2017 without coming here, but the dream of make a game never dies in me, not matter how much time pass. xD

Sorry if I asked in the wrong place. Keep the good work guys!!!

There was a game called Polymorphable made for the Flare engine that uses an "orthogonal" camera much like Dungeon Souls.

Polymorphable's character art is done in the 4 cardinal directions, but Flare supports the character facing these 4 directions plus the 4 diagonal directions for a total of 8 directions. The art is not automatically flipped in-engine, but flipping art is easy in most graphics programs.

As for equipment being visible, this is the standard for all Flare games, as each equipment slot corresponds to a layer of the character's sprite.
