This should default to the "deleting" mode as it's more robust? Or it can be configurable in settings?

This, I feel, should respect the default mode set by the site admin?

I'm looking into this, but if a user can choose an erasure method, do we still want to enforce the community default?

I think this is more about selecting the default set by the admin, if the user has not chosen a method before the 20-30 day expiry?
