But you use CentOS8.
Yes, I'm running CentOS Stream 8 on this system.
$ cat /etc/os-release
NAME="CentOS Stream"
VERSION="8"
ID="centos"
ID_LIKE="rhel fedora"
VERSION_ID="8"
PLATFORM_ID="platform:el8"
PRETTY_NAME="CentOS Stream 8"
ANSI_COLOR="0;31"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:centos:centos:8"
HOME_URL="https://centos.org/"

REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT="Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8"
REDHAT_SUPPORT_PRODUCT_VERSION="CentOS Stream"
$ cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Stream release 8
I have no problem with Fedora 35.
Interesting. I'll test it on fedora later, and if that fails maybe I'll file a bug with CentOS itself.
Thanks.
I've not been able to try it on Fedora yet, but I can confirm that the AppImage build offered on Giada's homepage does work as expected on my CentOS machine. Sound is detected correctly, and does play.
but it's not sandboxed either.
I just installed Giada as a flatpak from GNOME Software on CentOS Stream. I get this error upon launch:
In Giada > config, I set the sound system to Pulseaudio and then restarted Giada, but Giada produced the same error.
I've also tried starting Giada with this:
but I get the same error.
My Flatpak version is 1.8.5.
My soundcard is configured correctly enough to get sound from (and send sound to) Ardour, Audacity, and other multimedia applications (also Flatpaks).
