That's sad. NetworkManager doesn't make itself backward compatible.
Any particular reasons that you stay on Ubuntu 20.04? Because it's an LTS?

I stay on Ubuntu 20.04 mainly for Nvidia Deepstream support for work (they still don't support 22.04).
In the meantime, I'll try to learn more flatpak dev to see if there's a nicer workaround.
The update from 1.40.18 to 1.44.2 (commit 959cd839) broke the ability to make VPN connections, as dns-data doesn't exist. Would it be possible to somehow detect the host version of NetworkManager, rather than hard coding a specific version? I know something similar exists for Nvidia drivers within flatpak, but I don't know enough about how flatpak works yet to implement it myself. Rolling back to eba86970 on my system works for now (until flatpak tries to auto-update again).
