Compiling version 6.99.14.3 of renpy didn't work, so for now I have reverted the commits related to that. Digital uses version 6.10.2e (which is a pre-release), so we could try compiling version 6.10.2 .

I did a little digging in the app and found that it uses:

SDL 1.2
Python 2.5
- 2.7 should work.
Older cython that let's the user assign None to bint type.
- 0.20.2 seem to allow this, but maybe a patch on a newer version is better in the long run.
Ren'Py 6.10.2e
pygame 1.8.1release
libavutil 49, libavcodec 52, libavformat 52
- This corresponds to the libav 0.5 branch. Older Ren'Py only supported the libav API and not FFmpeg's.
