Spotify disregards disabling notlification for it on PopOS 20.10 #147

I'm on PopOS 20.10 and I have Spotify installed from flatpack. I have general notifications enabled so that I can for example see when someone is texting me, but for things like Spotify, I like to disable it.

I disabled all notification for Spotify in my system settings: image

But it doesn't care at all and each time it changes to the next song it pops up a notification anyway: image

my inxi if it helps:

Do you have idea if it works for non-flatpak spotify? As a workaround you may disable notifications in spotify own settings.

John15321 commented 3 years ago

Hi, @Erick555 well the whole reason I'm using flatpak is that the .deb package is currently broken 😅. Also sorry but I am unaware of any setting in the Spotify app itself that would have anything to do with notifications 🤔

Menu -> Settings -> Display options -> Show desktop notifications when the song changes

That helped. Thanks <3

I have this issue on elementary OS 5 too. In my notification indicator I can see that the notifications actually come from "Other" source, instead of from Spotify itself. I believe the Spotify client doesn't register itself properly with the notification server, or something like that.
