1 year ago Installed steam on chrooted cage. It works. The issue reproducible on my notebook even now with updated flatpak steam package ( but now it came to "109,752 of 200,392 KB" and then got SIGKILLed ).

11 months ago I was having the same issue, did permissions from this issue #1168 but it didn't work. What ended up working was using Flatseal and granting the app "Background" under portals. It looks like it is off by default for all apps, but it appears it is breaking the installer for Steam. I am not sure if it needs to be kept enabled after install or not.

Can't start.
The problem happened to me three days ago, when I would have liked to play cyberpunk 2077 at 12-28 fps on minimal settings with 1280x720 resolution.
But something went wrong.
It began as a problem of a new version with https://github.com/flathub/com.valvesoftware.Steam/issues/1168 . I've installed flatseal, allowed steam to access session bus at the places mentioned in the issue. The problem disappered.
then I got a strange problem when steam can't start: it's updating something and at roughly 33% it stops with SIGKILL.
I've done next ( all of this haven't helped ):
~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/and installed~/.local/share/flatpak/overridesflatpak run com.valvesoftware.Steam --resetdoesn't solve.flatpak run com.valvesoftware.Steam --resetand thenflatpak run com.valvesoftware.Steamgives something like:Then I tried to find something in logs.
