Can confirm. Both me and author of this Steam Community topic have had the same issue with Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. That is, the game crashes at any kind of save leading to corrupted save files. This behavior is not present in the native Steam package. The error window displayed is as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Buffer overrun detected! Program: [path to game]
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
Game information
Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (Both tested, but probably every ubisoft games are suffering with this.)
