Xbox controller works in Big Picture, but not in games #1269

Or more specifically, it doesn't work unless I install steam-devices. Which is weird, because it used to work just fine without it until recently.

Is there any useful info I can give?

+1, works in Big Picture, but not in games. and use this, its working. i use nixos, and add hardware.steam-hardware.enable=true; my-controller-isnt-being-detected

Same here. I am aware of the FAQ item linked above, but I don't want to install steam-devices on my Ubuntu derivative because it depends on Steam itself, which defeats the point of using the Flatpak. I made sure to have the official udev rules, but I don't think that this can make a difference because Steam itself sees everything, it's just the games which don't.
