Can you please post the output of flatpak list -d?
Have you been using Steam beta?
That error is commonly given if your Steam runtime is corrupt
I haven't been using the Steam beta, afaik. This message/problem persists even after removing the flatpak, nuking ~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam
, and reinstalling.
Here's my list -d
output:
% flatpak list -d

Running repair
also doesn't report anything out of the ordinary.
Right. I just tried myself with Fedora 29 Silverblue and at least there the situation did not reproduce.
It probably doesn't change anything but could you retry now with the path optimization changes?
Looks similar to #1 and #303. https://github.com/flathub/com.valvesoftware.Steam/issues/1#issuecomment-412376829 described a fix. Can you try it?
I've been as part of major runtime breakage debugging what steam.sh actually does when showing this message. It runs a command ldd /homedir/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam
If this kind of situation persists, provide me the output of flatpak run --command=ldd com.valvesoftware.Steam /homedir/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam
as Steam hides the entire output of ldd.
flatpak run --command=ldd com.valvesoftware.Steam /homedir/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam
ldd: /homedir/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam: No such file or directory
Steam ran yesterday, and doesn't today. I'm not sure what would have changed.
I have the
Compat
runtime installed, and don't think I'm doing anything odd.
