Is there a benefit to keeping old releases in the appstream file? Also, does the changelog section of each app in flathub.org really work? I could not find any app with a changelog actually listed on the website. We provide a changelog file with each release (in txt, md and html). How would I go about adding it to the metadata?

I'm not sure there is any benefit to have older releases in the appstream file.

Did find that to add release notes it needs to be in a description tag https://flathub.org/apps/fm.reaper.Reaper https://github.com/flathub/fm.reaper.Reaper/blob/master/fm.reaper.Reaper.metainfo.xml#L27

Not sure if it's worth trying to customize for each release - you can always just click more info and then get the link to release notes. Would be better if it didn't say no changelog provided though.
