Unable to open links from other applications ("LibreWolf is already running, but is not responding") #43

Closed parcelcat closed 1 year ago

parcelcat commented 1 year ago

Issue #6 has returned in version 112.0-1.

When opening a link from another application when LibreWolf is already open, the link does not open in LibreWolf. Instead, the following error message shows:

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile.

For some reason, the error message uses the word "Firefox" instead of "LibreWolf".

As a workaround for this issue until it is resolved, enabling the socket=session-bus D-Bus system bus (most easily done in Flatseal) or reverting to version 111.0-3 eliminates the issue.

Getting the same error since the last LibreWolf flatpak update. Also, some settings seem to have been lost (default search engine). I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.

I can see this error when trying to launch a new LibreWolf window from the terminal, with LibreWolf already running:

JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/XULStore.jsm, line 58: Error: Can't find profile directory.

Then this popup appears:
