Lutris is Not Running in Batocera #290

Open BatoceraNation opened 2 years ago

BatoceraNation commented 2 years ago

Describe the problem Hi! I'm from Batocera Nation (a Fan Channel & website dedicated to people using Batocera). While Batocera is not a strict Linux distro, it is still nonetheless very popular right now among retrogamers. Batocera is able to use Flatpak in PC x64 and we have Steam running successfully in Batocera using Flatpak. While I was recently able to install Lutris on Flatpak within Batocera, I was not successful in getting the Installers working properly.

The library for Epic Game Store does not show up. The library for both EA Store and GOG store does show up and I am able to install the games. However, none of the games work when I try to run them. I suspect the problem might be that Batocera is not a strict Linux distro. Nonetheless, I'm hoping that a developer will look into it and perhaps look into the possibility of having it run successfully in Batocera.

Enclosed you will find the logs to three different attempts with Epic Games Store, trying to run the Ubisoft Store, and trying to run a game within the GOG store.

The common error is: "D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace Monitored process exited. Initial process has exited (return code: 6) All processes have quit Exit with return code 6

I hope to hear from someone so that I can report back to Batocerans who are quite eager at having Epic Game Store, EA Launcher, etc. up and running in Batocera.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration, Manny Burgos Batocera Nation

Is it reproducible with native Lutris? Probaby not.

Steps to reproduce See above. 1. 2.

Expected behavior For the games to run and the libraries to show up for Epic Games and Ubisoft.

Actual behavior What actually happens. Epic Games and Ubisoft library don't show up. Games from EA and GOG stores don't run after installation.

Explained above.

Have you tried uninstalling Gamemode? this seems to be causing the issue.

BatoceraNation commented 2 years ago

Hi Strycore! Thanks so much for your response. You are right. It definitely has something to do with Gamemode. I was able to disable it in Configure--->Settings. When I disabled it in GOG, GOG games are now working (but I have to disable Gamemode for each and every game in GOG).

However, how do I uninstall it? When installing Epic Games Store and Origin Game Store, they both throw out an error similiar to "D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace" because apparently, it is using Gamemode when it installs them. After they install, I am able to disable Gamemode but Epic Games Store and Origin Store don't function properly. They function better than before but not properly.

So, if there is a way to uninstall Gamemode altogether, please let me know how to do it. Thanks so much!

I really appreciate your response and help.

Gratefully, Manny
