The build is failing because of a typo in sip 6.8.0 release, see this discussion. It was fixed on master but we have to wait for the 6.8.1 release.

As we do not build sip anymore but rely on com.riverbankcomputing.PyQt.BaseApp, I'm CCing @JakobDev so he's aware of this problem.

sip is removed during the cleanup. I will add a option to keep sip.

Yes, we need it only at build time. Please track the new sip release and update the PyQt.BaseApp as soon as 6.8.1 is released. Thanks!

6.8.1 has now been merged, but you need to wait until the new version is published.
