Guitarix hangs on startup #3

RHEL 8 Guitarix installed via Flatpak Resource limits overridden to get Jack running happily

When running Guitarix from the Applications menu I get the splash screen indefinitely until the OS detects it's crashed and asks if I want to kill it. Below is from running it from a terminal:

Gtk-Message: 16:11:35.035: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 16:11:35.035: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 16:11:35.035: Failed to load module "pk-gtk-module"
Gtk-Message: 16:11:35.035: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
[W][000015389.824335][module-rtkit.c:502 idle_func()] could not make thread realtime: Input/output error

I assume this is rtkit being unable to talk to the host (due to flatpaks sandboxing) and therefore using flatpaks PID namespace? Is there a known way to fix that?

What version of pipewire do you have installed on RHEL 8?

es02 commented 3 years ago

Apologies for the delay.

el8.3 has pipewire 0.3.6-1

I'm now (without making any changes to guitarix myself, so presumably updates) still getting those errors, but I'm no longer getting the splash screen hang;

I now get an error popup that is completely unresponsive and gives me "load state *** skin '' not found"

hfiguiere commented 3 years ago

no idea what that error is.

I can confirm I have the exact same error on ubuntu 22.04
