Most of features are disabled in Krita 5.2.3 if you don't select any layer after opening an existing image or project (GNOME 46, Wayland and openSUSE Aeon) #538

Hi, I saw that Krita was recently update to the 5.2.3 version. I like the new splash, but many of the most important features of the app are now disabled.

Is that happening with a new file too? Can't seem to reproduce it currently image

If I create a new blank project, the options are enabled, but if I open an existing image or Krita project, the options are showed disabled. I mainly use Krita for manipulating exiting images, not to create from scratch.

After doing some more research, I see that the root of the problem is that there are no layers selected by default.

Is the issue also occurring with the AppImage? Might be an upstream change if not related to the flatpak.

Can confirm that this issue is present in the arch packaged version.

Looks like this could be related to Krita related changes not connected to the packaging, might be able to ask if this is intended on the forums https://krita.org/en/report-a-bug/
