Update required to sign in #387

I currently can't use this app at all; it requires at least version 5.14.7 to sign in.

Hi there @muelli , I'm not seeing any newer Flatpak version.

There is one here: https://github.com/flathub/us.zoom.Zoom/pull/386 But nobody has checked yet whether it actually works.

@muelli how does one install from a pull request? I did a quick googling but didn't find the answer, maybe you could give me a pointer?

It looks like the build system automatically generates instructions here: https://github.com/flathub/us.zoom.Zoom/pull/386#issuecomment-1536087664

With that said, it's not very practical to ask most Flatpak users to follow special instructions to run test builds. Flatpak is expected to simply work as an "app store", and especially in the case of Zoom it needs to be available as soon as possible since Zoom refuses to work if it's a version with a security problem. I hate Zoom as much as the next guy, but it's unfortunately a critical required element for many jobs.

ah, I missed the fact that there are instructions right in the PR... Thanks!

I agree with the second part of your post in theory (in a perfect world we shouldn't have to test ourselves), but we should remember that flathub is run by volunteers on a best-effort basis and with limited time.

When I follow the instructions in the PR I get an error:

error: Can't load uri https://dl.flathub.org/build-repo/21955/us.zoom.Zoom.flatpakref: Server returned status 404: Not Found
