Right now there is a lot of wasted space in this view
This is somewhat a consequence of how things used to be organized - with multiple plots within each variable rectangle.
I think the plot widths should always scale to fill available space.
Also, perhaps the padding arround the plots should be reduced.
Now that the timeseries is the only plot now, perhaps we don't need the collapsible boxes... just have a simpler layout that doesn't waste as much space. Not sure about this.
