Hm... I'd suggest to add it as a second option for a production build, esp. because:

It has some specific requirements on bundling contents (e.g. templates have to be inlined before the files may be processed by ngc, which breaks https://github.com/flaviait/ng2-jspm-template/pull/22).
W.r.t. the issue list, it still contains several bugs that do not occur in the JIT version.
It still lacks proper docs.
