This PR covers an issue previously opened by me, i.e. Uuid deserialization.

I don't mind at all. I'll do it in a week or so. Currently I'm on a vacation and I don't have a PC on me 😄

I am cutting a release within the end of the week and this PR is basically done. I'll add the entry in the changelog myself :)
