Password entry should not use a command line box #161

Some users have reported problems with the command line password entry;
perhaps we can do this during installation in the more usual dialog box
fashion.

Just out of interest - do we know what kind of problems exactly?

(One other possibility is to provide a set password thing in the web UI, and 
e.g.
only make it accessible from localhost, and insist that it's set before serving 
any
other pages.)
