Improve UI for Collection - File Formats #202

The Formats chooser in the Files Specification of the collection editor only
displays seven types. As
we support indexing more types, it will become increasingly large unusable.

As far as I can see there are two practical approaches. Either display a much
larger list as a multiple
SELECT control (or perhaps nicer, a grid of checkboxes and labels in small
font) with "select all" and
"select none" buttons. Or have "include" and "exclude" text inputs, into which
the admin can enter
glob patterns to control the indexing.

The latter is more flexible, but requires the admin to have greater technical
ability. It also lacks the
explicit listing of indexable file types.

Hi Banoffi,

I liked this idea. I was also looking out to do something similar to the first
scenario. But I am little confused - how do I do that? How do I actually
enhance the
searching within default 7 file formats? I have installed a few ifilters but
don't
know how to make Flax Basic search for these files. Can someone urgently help
me??
