Unresponsive to XBox One Bluetooth controller

On Steam Deck, attempted to operate the program with a paired bluetooth XBox One controller. Program was entirely unresponsive. On further testing, when bluetooth controller is connected, neither the paired controller nor the inbuilt controls cause the interface to respond (it only responded to the Deck's touch screen). Switching controller order had no effect. When the controller is not active and the program is started, the Deck's inbuilt controls can operate the program without issue.
