Update Email: Notice of Change of Email Address - Practitioner

As the Court, in order to create a transparent record of when a party's email address is changed, a Notice of Change of Email Address should be generated by DAWSON whenever a practitioner's email address is updated in the system.

Pre-Conditions

A practitioner has completed the verification process of updating their email and the update has been committed to DAWSON, regardless of whether it was initiated by a Court employee or other party.

Acceptance Criteria

A Notice of Change of Email Address (new code: NOCE) should be generated when a practitioner's email is changed in the system and added to the docket record in all open cases and any case closed for 6 months or less
The Notice of Change of Email Address should have the same logic as a Notice of Change of Address
- Electronically served in cases with electronic service
- Routed to Docket if paper service or unrepresented petitioner in case
Notices aren't generated in cases where the status is New

1) Practitioner edits email and does not verify and no Notice of Change of Email is generated

There are a couple of steps to set this test case up. *Log in as an Admissions Clerk

Click on the advanced tab in the upper right hand corner
Click on Practitioner tab
Click on the Add new practitioner.
Create a new Private Practitioner (select employer as Private) and an IRS practitioner (select employer as IRS) with an email that you have access to
The email on the practitioner card will indicate that it is pending.
Take note of the BAR number for each of the practitioners that you just created - I wrote these down so I can use them later.
Log out of DAWSON
Go to your email that you used for the practitioners, and ensure that you received a "an account has been set up for you" email from DAWSON.
Log in to DAWSON with your newly created Practitioner accounts (IRS and Private), and add in the temp password, and set up the permanent password.

Next, you need to add these practitioners to some cases

Log in as a docket clerk
Navigate to a case in the NEW status, and add in the private practitioner for all parties (don't add in IRS practitioner for the case in the NEW status - this wouldn't happen in real life)
- Click on Case information tab
- Click on Parties tab
- Add in the Practitioners from the steps above in the "Add Counsel" area (enter the BAR number) to all parties
Navigate to a case with a General Docket Status, Closed (for less than 6 months) and Closed (for more than 6 months), and do the same steps as above to associate the Practitioners to the case. Be sure to add in the IRS Practitioner to the other cases!
Be sure that there there is no paper service or unrepresented petitioners on any of these cases! We will be testing paper service later.

Now you should be set up for the test case below.

Login as the private practitioner that you created in the steps above
- Verify that the Practitioner has cases in the following status:
  - In New status (Private Practitioner only)
  - In General Docket
  - Closed (for less than 6 months)
  - Closed (for more than 6 months)
Click on the down arrow on the person icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen
Select "My account" from the dropdown menu
Click on the Change email link and change your email
Do not go to your email and verify the email change
Do the same steps above for the IRS Practitioner

Expected results

[ ] Email update shows as pending in UI
[ ] Notice of Change of Email Address is NOT generated in any cases
- You will need to physically go into each of the cases to verify
- You can also ensure that you didn't receive any emails to the email account you are using

2) Practitioner verifies email and a Notice of Change of Email is generated (cases with no paper service or unrepresented petitioners)

Login as private practitioner from test case 1
- Verify that practitioner has cases in the following status:
  - In New status
  - In General Docket
  - Closed (for less than 6 months)
  - Closed (for more than 6 months)
  - None of the cases have paper service
  - All petitioners in the cases have representation by counsel
Go to your email from test case 1 and verify email Private practitioner
Do the same steps above for the IRS Practitioner

Expected results

[ ] New email displays in UI on contact card (no longer says pending)
[ ] Notice of Change of Email Address is generated in case in General Docket

Login as admissions clerk
Click on the Advanced link in the upper right hand corner
Type in the BAR number of the Practitioner that you created in test case 1 (you will do this for both private and IRS)
Click the Edit link to edit the Practitioner information
Edit the practitioners email (do this for both IRS and private practitioner)
DO NOT log in as the practitioners, and DO NOT verify the updated email

Expected results

[ ] Email update shows as pending in UI
[ ] Notice of Change of Email Address is not generated in any cases
- You will need to physically go into each of the cases to verify
- You can also ensure that you didn't receive any emails to the email account you are using

4) Practitioner verifies email address that was changed by the admissions clerk, and a Notice of Change of Email is generated (no paper service or unrepresented petitioners)

As the private practitioner from test case 1, check for the verification email
Verify it by following the directions in the email
Do these steps again for the IRS practitioner

Expected results

[ ] New email displays in UI (no longer says "Pending")
[ ] Notice of Change of Email Address is generated in case in General Docket
[ ] Notice of Change of Email Address is generated in Closed case (for less than 6 months)

5) Practitioner edits and verifies email and a Notice of Change of Email is generated (cases with paper service)

There are a few steps to take to set this test case up:

Log in as a docket clerk
Navigate to a case that has at least one petitioner with paper service
Add in another petitioner (if there was only one), and be sure that this second petitioner has counsel (and be sure to add in the private practitioner that you created in test case 1).
End result is that one petitioner is paper, and the other petitioner has counsel with the private practitioner from test case 1.
Next, add in the IRS practitioner that you created in test case 1 to the case

Now you should be ready to perform the test:

Login as private practitioner
- Has cases
  - In New status
  - In General Docket
  - Closed (for less than 6 months)
  - Closed (for more than 6 months)
  - Case with paper service party
  - Case without paper service or unrepresented petitioner
Click on the down arrow next to the person icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen
Select "My account" from the dropdown menu
Click on the "Change email" link
Change your email address to one that you have access to
The UI will indicate that the email address is pending
Go to your email and follow the steps to verify the new email
Do these steps again for the IRS Practitioner
