Open MwareSolutons opened 5 years ago

MwareSolutons commented 5 years ago

hi we wonder if you would add support for Roku any time soon

pavjacko commented 5 years ago

@MwareSolutons Roku is notoriously bad when it comes to cross platform family (thx BrightScript :) . but have some ideas how to solve it. Q3/Q4 2019 looks like potential target

MwareSolutons commented 5 years ago

True Roku want to be the odd one in the bunch looking forward on how you will solve this

Is it possible to transpile JavaScript into BrightScript?

mihaiblaga89 commented 4 years ago

I don't see any possibility to do that. But we have some other ideas that might work

RobRoseKnows commented 4 years ago

Good to hear! I'm currently working on a VOD app and renative looks perfect for my purposes, with the exception of no Roku support. If Roku was supported it'd be awesome.

https://www.youi.tv/react-native-roku-cloud/ they are working on roku development using react native

MwareSolutons commented 4 years ago

this is not a good approach as it takes server power at huge customer bases and has a latency customers want quick snappy navigation these days on top of that is the cost aspect for you.i which is quite high

Wanted to check in from 2021, and see if there were still plans to add Roku support. It was mentioned that there were some ideas on how to solve this, but was wondering if they were ever executed on, and if so, what roadblocks prevented it from working?
