Using FLIMfit version 5.0.3 I found that the IRF shift map was not being used for fitting, even when the option was selected in the 'advanced' tab. I switched back to an old version 4.1.2 and it seems to have resolved the issue.
This was tested with Coumarin 6 and quenched fluorescein IRF data, the fittings were giving strange results and I found this to be down to the use of the IRF shift map.
