Mumble is ugly on the tech side, it don't have normal chat at all. In Discord you can use voice and text with CHAT HISTORY! Also Discord have markdown in chat and it's free too.
I vouch for Discord.
Pros:
Cons:
Thread support would be nice, but channels + quotes + md are good enough. Vapor support uses Discord and it's quite nice.
Slack is good as a secondary option.
We already have a Discord server, used only for voice right now. I plan to make it open in public
Separating roles and channels in this way:
Right now I just separate contributors from everyone, to prevent a flood. Later we can create more voice and text channels for firmware/hardware/creative department.
I think we can close this issue, @zhovner could you add Discord info to contribution guide?
Done.
Done.
- Added in Footer that will append to all wiki pages
- Created new wiki page Communication for all communications methods: chats, mailing lists and so on.
We have no link to communication page except navbar. In contribution page has "Ask around for help!" paragraph, good to add communication page there. Also need to add link to main page
We need some instant messaging (or char) for quick communication and discussions. I can offer some tools for this.
