If you are getting connection errors, check your wifi settings. Also make sure
your
Wii is within range of your wireless router.
If you want to install it via WAD you can use NUS Downloader and make a WAD.
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/NUS_Downloader.
Just put the WAD into your /wads directory and when it asks if you want to
download
it from NUS, just hit left or right until you see from SD Wad or USB WAD
depending on
your preference.

Hello having same issue, tried both working wired and wireless connections.
I sort of understand using WAD but would like a noob step by step.
Thanks in advance.

It still sounds like your network settings is not setup correctly. However all
you
need to do is use NUS downloader and check of the pack to wad option. Copy the
file
onto your sd card under a folder called WADs. When you get to the IOS menu it
will
tell you the name of the WAD file it is looking for. When it prompts you where
you
want to install from just press left or right until you see install from SD WAD.

Same error here "Connect error (-6,). I'm pretty sure this issue is not related
to
my wireless settings. I have confirmed they are correct since I can get on
line,
surf the web on the Internet Channel and even download videos get updates etc.
not
to mention it dop-mii actually downloads the first IO from NUS.
Error -6 happens once it gets to Download I0S36 (v3351)
Even if I use the NUS Downloader, how can I know is the file I need?
I'm trying to Install I0S36 (v3351) w/FakeSign, please advice
Your help is greatly appreciated

I don't know what error -6 is exactly since it's not really documented will in
the
dev environment library that use developers use, but typically if it's a network
issue it's either a setting on the wii or router or your provider.
Just use NUS Downloader and Download IOS36 3351 and pack it to a wad file. Then
copy
that wad file onto your SD card into the /wads folder. When it asks you where
you
want to install it from just select install from SD wad.

Somes people (maybe 3/500 this month) report me the same issue !
You don't know what is (-6) ?

After some research, I think -6 means that it can't resolve the DNS for
nus.cdn.shop.wii.com.

I am having the same problems loading the IOS.
I just tries to initialize the network and fails.
I am trying the WAD now.
(I can browse Internet and all that on Wii)

Yes so follow the link above to get the NUS downloader. Click the databases
button
and find your IOS 36 3155 for me. Then check the create wad checkbox at the
bottom.
Then press start download. Now go back to the directory where the nus
downloader is
and there is a directory with a lot of characters in it. Find the wad in there.
I had
to place my wad in the root of my SD (not in wads -- that failed for me).

Ahah, we already know how to install by wad with NUSD !
We're trying to understand what the error -6 is and how to fix it ;)

same problem here..
the wii have solid internet connection , the router is just a few meters away ,
and
in the same room.
there is not networking problems, the wii ws restarted countless times to make
sure , and any other "homebrew" software that uses network works great ,
working with "NUS downloader" will definitly work, but , it's bulky , and
uncomfortable.
i've debugged my router's connection , and discovered the following:
when i'm inside the homebrew channel , i can still see the wireless connection
working and attached to the wii.
as soon as activate the DOP-Mii binary, still in the wellcome screen , i see
after
about 6-10 seconds.. the wii disconnects from the router , and stays offline,
untill i exit DOP-Mii..
then i can see the wii reconnects with the router again..
why is that happening ?
and apparently error -6 is a general network failure , DNS or whatever , if the
wii
is disconnected from the router , even if the dns servers are saved on it , it
won't
change nothing , because the client is offline , for some reason.
thanks

in addition , i don't think this ia a support issue ,
rather then a bug.
thanks

ok , i've just tested some more , and it seems that when i select
"IOS: 36" (which is already patched)
then select "IOS, BC , MIOS"
select "IOS36"
the newest version
and apply all patches
and choose "download from NUS"
it reconnct to the router .. and the network is working fine,
downloading from NUS....
huh ?? am i missing something ? (O_o)

Few things.
1. It is normal to see the Wii disconnect the wireless when it switches IOSes.
Think
of an IOS switch as it rebooting your computer. The PPC processor basically gets
rebooted and then the new IOS loads up.
2. The -6, aka EAGAIN, error is coming from the Wii and not from our Code,
without
knowing exactly what is causing the EAGAIN error in the first place there is
nothing
I can fix.
3. Out of 19,000 downloads and only a small handful of people reporting the
issue it
still leaves me to believe it is the setup somehow. Until I can replicate the
issue I
cannot fix the issue.
The only other possibility is that it may be a libogc issue because all we are
doing
is calling the following below which is where we get the EAGAIN error code from
->
which is coming from libogc -> which is calling the wii's low level functions
for the
network.
"res = net_connect (s, (struct sockaddr*) &sa, sizeof(struct sockaddr_in));"
I will ask some of the other wiidev's if they have come across this issue, but
like I
said in bullet #3 it's hard to classify it as a bug when only a very few people
have
reported this issue.

@rama: It starting to sound more like an IOS issue. I'm wondering if those who
have
an old IOS36 when it trys to downgrade IOS15 has a network bug. If loading
latest
IOS36 works every time it's sounding more and more like an IOS issue. Can you
try it
a few times to confirm.

Crashes always help, those are easier to track down than just normal errors ;)
However just rough glancing at those addresses I think that is a WiiMote sync
issue.
If it is that I have tried multiple times to adjust timing on it, but it could
also
be libogc's sync timing as well, not sure. That issue has been the hardest to
narrow
down because some Wiis never see that problem where some of the newer Wiis do.
However when I get some time later I'll take a peek and confirm if that is the
WiiMote crashing at that point.

I have a Christmas 09 Wii and I've never gotten this issue, of that helps.
However once in a while (about 1 in 50) it will have an error downloading stuff
but it will install anyways,
resulting in a corrupted title.
