I just updated a chart, and the URL it created to post the rating was:
http://www.bettercontext.com/api/user_ratings?user_id=1&api=1&site_id=1&rating%5B%5D=1.00&rating%5B%5D=6.96&rating%5B%5D=7.34&rating%5B%5D=9.16&rating%5B%5D=6.40
which seems to be missing an item_id, otherwise the rating isn't tied to anything
